Lauren Almquist is a community herbalist, gardener, and regenerative landscape designer. She is known for facilitating connection, communication and deep relationship among people and plants, such that all may thrive.
From a magical, abundant garden or backyard sanctuary, to an interactive, educational, shared public space, Lauren works with people and plants to design and create nourishing, abundant spaces. She studied folk herbalism and plant spirit healing at the Gaia School of Healing in Vermont, and studied permaculture design through the Resilience Hub in Maine. She has learned the most from direct experience with plants, elements, and spirit. Lauren believes when we reconnect with the space around us, we become present to what is and present to infinite possibilities.
Lauren offers garden and landscape design services, plant spirit herbal medicine workshops, retreats, and classes. She collaborates with community organizations like the Boston Food Forest Coalition to expand access to nourishing and medicinal plants, creating space for individuals and communities to connect with plants, the earth, themselves, and each other.
Lauren is also an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional (AOLCP) through the NOFA Organic Land Care Program, a program of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut. She is a member of the Permaculture Association of the Northeast and the Ecological Landscape Alliance.
